Asset management – White paper

Release of the first ever PROSE white paper! For now, available in German only – so here is a treat for our German speaking followers:

Cooperation between teams based in different countries

How do you improve the cooperation between teams based in different countries?

Make a swap of course
The next in line to try this out is Michele Pedretti, junior electrical engineer, based in Pisa and the electrical unit
He will soon be a “Berliner” for a year and contribute with his skills as an Electrical team-member but on site with the business unit Germany. And become a pro in the German language along the way

This is one of the swaps in PROSE and won’t be the last. Stay tuned!

IHRUS

The IHRUS (maintenance wheel and rail) symposium took place on Friday at the Verkehrshaus in Lucerne.

A total of 7 presentations were given, among others on today’s challenges, lifecycle procurement, track laboratory, system leadership, drones in use for rail , completion of electrification and sustainability in railinfrastructure.

PROSE was represented by Rolf Mühlemann, Dr. Bernhard Frei, Tobias Hoppe and Yves Kohler.

On this day also the SwissFutureDay took place, where girls and boys accompany their parents into the working world. This opportunity was used by Dr. Bernhard Frei‘s son to get an insight into his father’s everyday working life.

Do you know how to save a life?

Do you know how to save a life?

Make sure you get a CPR training on regular basis. During the past week, all employees in PROSE-Sweden got the opportunity to practice CPR with a certified trainer. You never know when you will be in a setting where someone’s life is dependent on you.

  1. Make sure the setting is safe (traffic, fire, electricity etc.)
  2. Check consciousness of the person
  3. Check if the person is breathing normally
  4. Open the air-ways
  5. Look, listen and feel if the person is breathing
  6. Call your emergency/SOS-line
  7. Start CPR if needed

Prepare for the worst, hope for the best. And always stay safe!

PROSE-Article in ETR

The running technology department of PROSE has written an article in the ETR issue of October about quasistatic wear of modern railvehicles on the Swiss metergauge network.

Based on the experience of several wear investigations at different meter gauge operators, PROSE performs generic simulation calculations to determine the effects of some basic influencing factors.

Training day(s)-success recipe for the System Engineering cross-site-team of PROSE

The two days were filled with inspiring lectures by colleagues such as about HVAC concepts and systems by Bernhard Mantinger, brakesystems and bogietypes by Uwe Koppatsch and Armin Burth and homologation management by Robert Sieglitz. Kudos and big thanks to our talented experts!

The first day ended with a joint dinner of local food and drinks to boost the team spirit and enjoy each others company outside of office hours

The team was also lucky enough to have a visit at OTTOBAHN where they gained insight in their mobility vision and took a short ride with ottobahn’s prototype cabin
Thank you OTTOBAHN for welcoming us!

All in all, a successful team event, to be continued …

InnoTrans booth table in Berlin Office

In PROSE, respect guides our actions, not only in projects but also in the way we treat each other and our environment
With this mind-set, we decided to re-use our InnoTrans-booth-table in our daily office environment. We are looking forward to many innovative discussions as well as teambuilding around our new office eye-catcher.
Luckily, the kitchen area in PROSE-Berlin was big enough to fit the 4 meter long table! Welcome to stop by for a coffee if you are in the area

Kudos to the PROSE Berlin-team who dismantled, transported and built up the table in the office teamwork.

Project manager day

A great PROSE “Project Manager”-Day was successfully held in Bavaria with all project managers of PROSE Germany and Austria for learning and for exchange.
“Bid & project management”-process as well as “Finance for Engineers” were presented and fruitfully discussed.
The day ended with social activities!

PROSE-shoes

Our PROSE-sneakers, first time shown during InnoTrans 2022, are the “talk of the town”. And we get it – they are inventive, just as us ingenuity.
Besides wearing fab-sneakers, we are shaping tomorrow’s mobility – interested to join or partner up?
