Account Manager France
PROSE is one of Europe’s leading partners for mobility engineering. We are an international team realizing A-Z projects for the refurbishment of railway vehicles, development projects for Railway Vehicle sub-systems and components, as well as advisory and consulting assignments.
To boost our development in France and French speaking neighbor countries, we are currently looking for an Account Manager France to join us on this mission.
Role Overview:
In this challenging role, you will be a key player in our team in charge of the acquisition of new customers and fostering our existing Railway customer base in France and neighboring countries. You build on your experience in the Railway market associated with a business developer mentality and a project culture, are autonomous and organized, understand technically complex subjects, strong communication skills, the ability to persuade and engage customers, a proven track record in building a quality pipeline along with successful closing skills. For the projects entrusted, you will use your management skills and sense of responsibility and accountability to successfully deliver with your team the contractual services to the full satisfaction of our customers.
Responsibilities:
- Generate new business leads through various sales and marketing activities, including networking, marketing and email campaigns, cold calling
- Conduct high-level conversations with decision-makers at Rail Operators and OEM’s to understand their business needs and present PROSE’s value offer
- Deliver effective solution presentations to potential customers, showcasing PROSE’s unique solutions in engineering and consulting
- Prepare successful proposals in response to tenders as well as unsolicited proposals
- Manage multiple concurrent sales opportunities, prioritizing and organizing efforts to maximize success
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including project and marketing, to drive new solution development and customer retention
- Accurately forecast and track sales pipeline and revenue
- Reach or exceed annual sales targets
- Acting as the main customer interface for the contracted projects
- Successful organization, management and delivery of the projects in line with the contractual quality, financial and schedule targets, both from the customer perspective as towards the company.
Requirements:
- Technical University or Engineering School degree, preferably in electrical or mechanical engineering
- Solid experience in railway vehicle engineering
- 3 to 5 years of experience in sales or business development as well as project management roles,
- Self-starter with an entrepreneurial attitude
- Excellent presentation skills, with the ability to effectively articulate the value proposition of our solutions
- Excellent organizational, communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills
- Natural leadership and management of multicultural project teams
- Ability to think creatively and develop new sales strategies to achieve business goals
- Native French and fluency in English are mandatory, German language is a plus
- Experienced user of MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook), Project Management suites as well as of CRM systems

2038 problem: What happens when time runs out?
The 2038 problem is a hidden risk in legacy computer systems that store time as a 32-bit Unix timestamp. On 19 January 2038, this counter will overflow, causing systems to jump back to 1901.
This jump backwards is expected to cause many software systems to crash or run into an unpredictable behaviour. And this is not theoretical! It may already affect systems that calculate future dates or that have a design life beyond 2037.
In rail, where precise timing underpins safe and reliable operations, this creates a hidden but critical risk across onboard and infrastructure systems, maintenance tools, etc. The key question is not if, but where.
While the event is “still” 12 years away, it is actually tomorrow, considering that the Rail Industry, like several others, are known to be slow-moving when it comes to such massive system upgrades.

Assessing locomotive compatibility under increased overhead line voltage

Our approach
PROSE began with a structured review of the Rc6 high-voltage system, analysing design documentation, component specifications, and historical modification records to establish the vehicle’s current technical baseline. Based on this analysis, we evaluated the impact of the increased maximum voltage on insulation coordination, component voltage margins, and protection systems. Where necessary, we developed alternative technical solutions to ensure compliance with the new operating conditions. Each option was assessed from both a technical and economic perspective, including feasibility, implementation effort, operational implications, and associated risks. The work was carried out in close dialogue with SJ as operator and Trafikverket as infrastructure owner to ensure transparency and alignment throughout the project.
Customer benefit
The customer gained a transparent and technically sound decision basis for operating the Rc6 fleet under increased overhead line voltage. Our independent assessment clarified voltage margins, component limitations, and protection requirements, creating full visibility of technical risks and modification needs.
By systematically comparing refurbishment scenarios, including cost and implementation implications, we enabled SJ and Trafikverket to prioritise measures based on safety, operational reliability, and long-term investment protection. With PROSE’s in-depth knowledge of Swedish rolling stock and infrastructure interfaces, the operators secured a technically robust and future-proof solution aligned with updated network standards.
